As I'm sure all of you know, I took a photography class last semester and fell in love with it. I have always enjoyed taking pictures, but actually learning the process of film, from start to finish, was fantastic. I could spend hours in the darkroom at school. My instructor, O. Rufus Lovett, is an award winning photographer and has taught at Kilgore College for many years. He has published two books, (Weeping Mary, and Kilgore Rangerettes.) I highly encourage you to check out his work... He has a way of capturing those fleeting human moments that make this life so amazing. All of that to say, I entered one of my photos in the Texas Bank and Trust photography contest last year, and I won Honorable Mention. I was very pleased, considering this was a) my first ever experience with processing and printing 35mm film and b) my very first try at entering! All of the winners are compiled into their 2009 calenders. I got a letter in the mail that said I can purchase extra calenders for $3.oo. There are some amazing images from all over East Texas and I am so proud to be included with these fabulous photographers. So if you would like one, please let me know. You will not be disappointed!!

My girls...
I am constantly amazed at how much my girls are changing every day. Teagan now calls me "Mom". It makes me want to cry every time she says it; I guess she's too big for "Mommy" now. She knows all of her letters and numbers, and is now learning the concept of addition and subtraction. My future valedictorian~
Kaylan is following in her big sister's footsteps and wants to do everything TayTay does. She snuck off with the scissors the other day and decided to whack her own hair. We laugh everytime she says Kung Fu Panda ("Poo Poo Panda"). How blessed are we! I never knew two precious girls could be so much fun.

Who knew Foleys were so much fun?
Ok, I'm finally here. After debating whether to start blogging, I've decided to bite the bullet. My sister's posts make me so happy (since we live so far apart), I figured I'd return the favor... So here goes!
Only the children of a nursing student would have so much fun playing with my used Foley catheter kit... not used on a human, just for practice in the lab. Here are some photos of the girls experimenting:Teagan wanted the gloves on.
Kaylan just wanted the plastic tweezers and cotton balls. Teagan learned a valuable lesson last night. You can only put things so far into your mouth, and then...
You elicit the gag reflex! Never a dull moment!!
