I'm freezing

Friday we had the A/C on. Today we switched back to the heater. Friday 80 degrees... today I don't think it broke 40. And the wind was what made it so unbearable! Brrrrr is the only way to describe today!

We had a great day today.. I kind of threw together a last minute garage sale so we did that until about 11. Lunch. Naps. Took a trip to M-town to check on Gran and Big Daddy's pups while they are out of town. Teagan helped me clean their box out and kept them busy while I changed out the newspaper. Keek was chillin inside watching Wow!Wow! Wubbzy! Hung out there for a bit, stopped at the store for some milk and came back home. A friend came over and we ordered sushi to go and made ourselves a carpet picnic of California and Crunch rolls... yum~

Oh!! I almost forgot! I had an interview Friday w/ a local hospital for the E.R.!! I think it went really well; they said I should know by next week if I got it. So keep your fingers crossed for me! And give me a shout out next time you have a little convo with Jesus... Hope you all had a great weekend and I'll keep you posted on school/job/kids.

Fun in the February sun

We had so much fun outside in the 80 degree weather! Kaylan

Teagan

I LOVE these pictures of our friends baby, Claire. She had fun outside with the girls while her mom got to run a few errands. I think the one of her in the swing is my favorite... check out that 'do!

A week of firsts

OK, posting these pictures is driving me crazy because I want them to go in certain places and they aren't cooperating. So Teagan had her first dance class today; she was so excited! And you know she was the cutest one there! I posted some pictures of the blinged out leotard I made her, and a fabric covered corkboard that now hangs over our computer. I also made her dance bag... sort of. Iron on appliques are ingenious! So while Tay was at dance, Kaylan and I took a trip to the pet store.. after she cried for 10 minutes because she wanted her sister. It was so sweet~ She LOVED the fish, and one of the cockatoos said "Hello" to her and she thought that was amazing! Everything she saw she would point to and say, "Mom, look!" She told me she was scared of the tarantulas and that the mice were "cute".

If I ever had any doubts that my children were exceptional, I now have the pictures to prove it. They ask, no.. BEG for SALAD!!! And no lame iceburg will do... Teagan calls it "twigs", but it's the spring mix of arugula and radichio lettuce. They also want broccoli and carrots when we are perusing the produce. I am so thankful that they like foods that are good for them.

Update

Well, I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I'd give you all an update on what's been going on. I had my last psych clinical Wednesday: THANK. YOU. JESUS!! That's just not my bag, baby. I don't have the patience. My compassion lies elsewhere and I just couldn't muster even a tiny bit for the whack-jobs I encountered. No offense...

The girls and I had a fabulous day today.... got to sleep in till 7> YeeHaw!
Made a carrot cake... I thought it was ok... Will have to get some feedback from others and see what they think. It could probably stand to be reworked... but nothing is ever perfect to me, so... I guess that always leaves me room for improvement.

We walked to the park and enjoyed the "beautiful, sunny day" according to Teagan. My little social butterfly; it's so visceral to watch her interact with others. She just walks right up to other kids and says, "I'm Teagan. What's your name?" I love it! And I know that she gets that from me~
Kaylan is much more cautious than TayTay. She did give their new friend Abigail a hug before we left. I think I have 2 future Miss Congeniality nominees on my hands. And that's just fine with me.

The girls asked to paint their nails tonight when they got out of the tub. Keek chose purple.. Tay picked black. My future rocker chicks in the making!

I will post pictures soon. I promise! xoxo

I met Jesus

Our last clinical day at Rusk State Hospital is tomorrow... I am very sad *tear*....
Really, it has not been that bad. The first day we went to an all male unit. I talked to a w/m who had fried his brain on coke. I really couldn't understand a lot of what he said; a mumbling patient + partially deaf nurse = no therapeutic communication. I did hear the word "sharks" in a portion of what he said. I just sat there nodding my head and saying, "Uh-huh... Oh, ok." He sat in the corner alone, intermittently bobbing between hysterical laughter and catatonia. Hmmmm, I guess Whitney Houston is correct when she said, " CRACK IS WHACK!!"

So then we got to go to their monthly dance... now that was fun. This is where I met Jesus. He was a 60ish stout black man with a wiry white beard. The music from the dance was loud and, hellooo?, speak up please! I couldn't hear all of what he said, but I did hear him say that he was Jesus. And he had the scars on his hands and feet to prove it. I did not ask for a peek at the visual evidence. "I was whipped on my back, they spit in my eye. And wore a crown of thorns."

Me : "Oh, wow. Oh, ok. Hmm. Mmm-hmm"

What do you say? They tell us not to argue with the patients... what's the point, right? So that's what I did. And Jesus had the breath of a gila monster... for real. I. Wanted. To. Die. He also told me that it was a sin for women to wear pants, but that he was forgiving and his father was a forgving father so he could forgive me. Thanks, Jesus. Please forgive me for wearing pants. Maybe I will see him again tomorrow. I'll let you know who I meet tomorrow. Maybe the Queen of England or Tiger Woods.
